Rev. Maj. Vincent K Miller Honored at Maranatha

On Sunday, July 10th, Maranatha Ministries was honored to have Maj. Vincent Miller home on leave from Iraq. "He surprised us all in the Wednesday evening service," said Pastor Frank. "He didn't tell anyone he was going to be home and said he didn't want people to come to church because they knew he was going to be there. He wanted people to come to church because Jesus was going to be there. Very impressive!"

Maj. Miller was invited back to speak in the Sunday service. "It was quite a night," said Pastor Frank. "The Daily Gazette was there for an interview along with Capital News 9! Maj. Miller made it on the evening news and had a front page article in the Gazette!"

It was a very informative evening as Maj. Miller brought a good report home from Iraq. "George Bush is doing the right thing in not getting out of Iraq," Said Maj. Miller. "The Iraqi people are now realizing that the American troops are there for their good and right now their biggest fear is that we will leave." He said that things are better in Iraq right now than they were when Sadaam Husain was in control as about 80% of the country now has electricity as compared to about 30% during the Husain regime.

Maj. Miller presented the congregation in general and Pastor Frank in particular with an Iraqi banner that states "God is Great" in the Arabic language. "This is what the terrorist say just before they blow themselves up along with their targets," said Maj. Miller. "But I'm not going to allow them to pervert this statement without using it myself in the correct way. God is Great!"

The service ended on a very high note with Maj. Miller proclaiming that he is proud to be a soldier and proud to be an American. The service was dismissed with the congregation praying for Maj. Miller and all the soldiers in harms way along with a rousing rendition of "God Bless America."
